I need photography like a seafaring mammal needs air. After I go down deep into the annals of work and the business of life, I begin to feel this strange desperation. I become ensconced in a numb routine and soon I forget that I need photography, the need to breathe. It’s only when I feel worn down and turned out that I resurface to capture my lifeline, my oxygen, my camera. I wish I knew a better way than before I felt so eroded.
The beauty of nature beguiles me, makes me feel small and reminds me to live a life I love rather than one I trudge through. I am alive out in the wild. Life is short, fragile and I intend to make my time purposed and meaningful. It is a constant commitment I renew with myself and it is only when I take a step back that I am able to reassign my priorities. In each still curation, I accept the terms of change and renew my spirit. I breathe in deeply the beauty that fills my eyes and out the temperance that encompasses me.

Gates and I are officially dating. He's intelligent, outgoing, down to earth, driven and kind. We enjoy each others company and I'm grateful that we've grown so close. He challenges and compliments me in a new and interesting way.
